1. Application Procedures for FEHD Columbarium Niches

The application form can be obtained from the Cemeteries and Crematoria Offices of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) or directly from FEHD's website.

Complete the application form and attach the following documents:

1. A copy of the applicant's identity card;
2. A copy of the identity card of the deceased;
3. A copy of the original and duplicate copy of the "Permit for Collection of Columbarium" of each of the deceased;
4. If the application is for the interment of the ashes of two or more ancestors, proof of the relationship of the ancestors concerned is required;
5. Return the application form together with the required documents to the Cemeteries and Crematoria Office of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department.

2. The right to use FEHD columbarium niches

The right to use FEHD columbarium niches is for an initial period of 20 years, renewable every 10 years or upon application for removal of cremains at any time after the expiry of the period.

3. Application for BMCPC columbarium niches

Application for BMCPC columbarium niches is normally made by drawing lots, and applications can be made on the website of the BMCPC.

4. Fees for BMCPC columbarium niches

The fees for BMCPC columbarium niches vary according to the size of the niches: 

Standard niche $2,600

Family niche $21,000

5. Right to use BMCPC columbarium niches

BMCPC columbarium niches do not need to be renewed until the building on which the niche is situated is required to be redeveloped or demolished, or until the expiry of the Government lease of the land on which the building is situated.
